Culture: Arthur C Clarke Predicting the Future in 1964

Found on Gizmodo

“In this clip from the BBC’s Mysterious World, Clarke postulates on what the future of cities will be like. And thanks to revolutions in communications technology made possible by satellites, by the year 2000 people will no longer have to commute to the office to put in a day’s work. He even goes as far as making the wild claim that one day surgeons might not have to be in the same country as the patient they’re operating on—which isn’t that wild a claim any more. Books: Top 100 Science Fiction and Fantasy Books

NPR listeners voted for the Top 100 Science Fiction and Fantasy Books. This list is very thorough and highlights the amazing wealth of great stories in the Science Fiction and Fantasy genre. I love this, I must read the books on the list that I have not gotten to yet. Well done NPR!

Film: My Most Anticipated Summer Movies

Both movies contain Charlize Theron, coincidence? I think not.

1) Prometheus

2) Snow White and the Huntsman

Both previews give me chills!
